Beyond E‑Invoicing – Insiders on What does the future hold for digital invoice pro­ces­sing? This question was the focus of the E‑Invoice Summit 2025 – and Insiders was right in the thick of it. Together with experts from business, admi­nis­tra­tion, and politics, we discussed where the journey is headed: from mandatory e‑invoicing to smart, automated end-to-end processes. ERGI 2025

Now that e‑invoicing has become a reality, it is time to think one step ahead and leverage the advan­tages of struc­tured data. Insiders is therefore working inten­si­vely on ways to make purchase-to-pay processes even faster and better. E‑finance is con­sis­t­ently taking e‑invoicing to the next level and using state-of-the-art AI in other related com­mer­cial processes. In his keynote speech “Beyond E‑Invoicing – Intel­li­gent P2P Auto­ma­tion with Insiders,” our Head of Channel Manage­ment Alexander Swienty showed why the focus should not be solely on struc­tured invoicing. Only through holistic auto­ma­tion along the entire P2P chain can real effi­ci­ency gains be achieved. This means that e‑invoicing is the beginning – not the goal.

“Our vision goes far beyond pure e‑invoicing. We look at the entire e‑finance process and develop solutions that enable companies to achieve real effi­ci­ency gains,” explains Swienty. “The dis­cus­sions at the e‑invoicing summit showed that our strategy is precisely where the need lies. Now it’s a matter of effi­ci­ently lever­aging the added value that e‑invoicing creates.”

Key added value includes automated formal and content-based checking of invoice content, detection of anomalies, dark pro­ces­sing for correct order refe­rences, and inte­gra­tion into approval processes. A highlight of the pre­sen­ta­tion was the intro­duc­tion of Insiders‘ LLM-based auto-accounting—an intel­li­gent solution that signi­fi­cantly sim­pli­fies and acce­le­rates accoun­ting processes. Insiders‘ intel­li­gent auto-accoun­ting relies on AI – including super­vised learning – to automate the assign­ment of cost centers, cost units, and accounts, identify the usual approvers of documents, and generate meaningful posting texts. The solution observes and learns from his­to­rical ERP data in order to make bookings precisely and indi­vi­du­ally for each customer. In addition to modular solutions from Insiders, customers can also opt for a com­pre­hen­sive e‑invoice solution that combines all the building blocks, enabling intel­li­gent invoice manage­ment with exchange across all common formats – from paper to e‑invoices – and offering certified Peppol access. Our con­clu­sion: E‑invoicing is coming – and with it the oppor­tu­nity to fun­da­men­tally rethink processes. At Insiders, we are actively shaping this change.
