Swiss service provider utilizes AI tech­no­logy from Insiders for efficient, automated document reading and trans­pa­rent, auditable energy con­trol­ling. The flexible solution ensures cost opti­miza­tion and ESG-compliant reporting.

Insiders supports Swiss service provider Enerprice AG in eva­lua­ting incoming invoices for com­pre­hen­sive energy manage­ment. Real con­sump­tion data—for example, for heating oil, natural gas, wood pellets, elec­tri­city, and more—is read from billing documents, validated multiple times, and con­so­li­dated to determine the actual energy con­sump­tion of companies. This benefits customers with often hundreds of pro­per­ties, such as banks and insurance companies, who list their specific energy con­sump­tion in their ESG reporting. Unlike reporting based on estimates, assump­tions, or random samples, Ener­pri­ce’s energy con­trol­ling is fully auditable, certified according to ISAE 3402, and thus above any accu­sa­tions of green­wa­shing.

In a second service, Enerprice offers its customers complete com­mer­cial pro­ces­sing of energy billing. In this case, the many indi­vi­dual incoming invoices from energy suppliers are read, validated, checked, and—if correct—paid. The customer then receives a con­so­li­dated invoice from Enerprice, broken down by con­sump­tion points.

Enerprice has high requi­re­ments for auto­ma­tion and data quality in energy con­trol­ling. On the one hand, quality is an important criterion for ESG reporting. On the other hand, a higher level of detail also creates benefits beyond ESG reporting. For example, detailed reporting allows the energy con­sump­tion of different pro­per­ties to be compared over time, and purchase prices, con­sump­tion, and savings measures can be optimized in dialogue with the owners. To ensure the pro­fi­ta­bi­lity of Ener­pri­ce’s entire business model, it is important to con­ti­nuously increase the level of auto­ma­tion without com­pro­mi­sing on quality.

Against this backdrop, Enerprice decided to use the e‑invoice pro product from Insiders Tech­no­lo­gies. The solution uses Insiders‘ OvAItion AI and stands for the highest quality in document reading. It is highly cus­to­mizable to meet even special requi­re­ments. e‑invoice pro is thus a central component in the process. Enerprice is now also using Insiders to integrate various large language models (LLM) to further improve data extra­c­tion and veri­fi­ca­tion. After only a short time in use, Enerprice noticed a signi­fi­cant increase in the auto­ma­tion rate.

With the intel­li­gent data vali­da­tion of e‑invoice pro, around 100,000 documents per year can be processed auto­ma­ti­cally and con­sump­tion can be precisely allocated to around 42,000 metering points in over 7,800 pro­per­ties.

The quality of the entire process—from data coll­ec­tion to consolidation—has been certified by KPMG in accordance with ISAE 3402. Thanks to its high level of auto­ma­tion, the solution relieves the Enerprice team of routine tasks while incre­asing the level of detail in energy reporting. Thanks to end-to-end auto­ma­tion and flexible cus­to­miza­tion options, Enerprice can further scale its energy con­trol­ling and quickly implement new requi­re­ments, such as addi­tional energy sources or the extra­c­tion of energy product infor­ma­tion.
