Insiders launches expert dialogue on agentic AI in insurance

Roundtable format brings together specialists from technology, science, and the insurance industry to advance Agentic AI and prepare for the next level of intelligent process automation.

Insiders, a leading provider of intelligent automation (IA) software, has launched a structured exchange on the use of agentic AI in the insurance industry with a high-level expert dialogue. The roundtable in Berlin brought together selected decision-makers from insurance companies with leading researchers and technology experts with the aim of jointly specifying the potential and requirements for the next stage of development of AI-supported core processes.

Agentic AI represents a new generation of process automation in which AI systems not only execute tasks, but also independently prepare decisions, prioritize steps, and adapt processes to specific situations. This approach enables more flexible, reliable processes and helps insurers respond more quickly to new requirements.

The meeting was opened by Norbert Dick, long-time IBM General Manager Insurance Industry. This was followed by presentations by Prof. Dr. Sebastian Vollmer from the German Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) and RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau, Dr. Christian Bielefeld, management consultant and former member of the Executive Board of VHV Holding and the Signal Iduna Group, Prof. Dr. Peter Liggesmeyer, Director of Fraunhofer IESE and Chair of Software Engineering at RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau, and Jens Ringel, Managing Director of Versicherungsforen Leipzig GmbH, gave keynote speeches on the extent to which research and operational practice have already converged. The presentations made it clear that Agentic AI is not considered a distant future technology, but rather the next logical step for data-driven insurance processes.

The subsequent creative workshop provided space for discussion and showed where the industry currently stands and what conditions need to be created for the productive use of Agentic AI. The focus was on a 360-degree view of Agentic AI in the insurance industry. The participants agreed that cross-technology collaboration is a key factor in translating new developments into marketable solutions more quickly.

This approach is nothing new for Insiders. The company has been working closely with customers, partners, and scientists for many years, continuously transforming technological innovations into practical applications.

„Right now, we need people who are willing to think one step ahead of the market. We need early creators of a new standard who not only analyze issues but also translate them into concrete implementation,“ says Dr. h.c. Werner Weiss, Managing Director of Insiders Technologies, emphasizing the importance of this openness for the future viability of the industry. ”Our goal is to jointly develop Agentic AI in such a way that it can be used productively in insurance companies.“

The expert dialogue is intended to mark the start of an ongoing exchange. Insiders is already planning to continue the format with other partners and to work together with the market and research to develop a uniform, productive basis for Agentic AI. The need is clearly evident in the market, and the expertise to drive this development forward was on display in Berlin. Now the next steps are being prepared together.
