University of Koblenz and Insiders launch strategic cooperation in the field of AI

The development of AI requires close cooperation between science and practice. Through their collaboration, the University of Koblenz and Insiders Technologies aim to advance technological development.

Insiders and Department 4: Computer Science at the University of Koblenz are intensifying their cooperation in research and teaching. The new cooperation agreement signed this week will initially run for a period of four years and covers key areas of application for artificial intelligence, particularly in the context of data intelligence and cognitive process automation. Through close integration of university research and industrial practice, new solutions are to be developed and talent specifically promoted. “Close cooperation between science and business practice is the key to an innovation-driven economy,” emphasizes Werner Weiss, Managing Director of Insiders Technologies. “With the opening of our new location in Koblenz and the deepening of our long-standing cooperation with the Department of Computer Science at the University of Koblenz, we are creating an even closer connection between research and practice. In this way, we are promoting talent, driving technological developments, and strengthening not only Insiders, but also Koblenz as a center of innovation in the long term.” The future collaboration encompasses various initiatives to promote talent and expand research-oriented teaching, including joint courses, research internships, doctoral projects, and the introduction of an AI Research Award. In addition, there are plans to fund an endowed professorship and apply for joint research projects. “As Department 4: Computer Science at the University of Koblenz, we are very interested in cooperation with companies in research and teaching,” explains Department Dean Prof. Dr. Ralf Lämmel. „In the case of Insiders Technologies, both sides have been very successful in matching their mutual interests and expectations in such a way that a lasting cooperation can result. We can already look back on joint theses, courses offered by Insiders, and a particularly interesting AI-centered workshop for students. Now we want to increase our cooperation in research internships, project proposals, and doctoral projects. Insiders is an excellent fit with our profile topic ‘(Health) Data Intelligence’.“ Another important component of the cooperation is the planned ”Innovation Lab“ in the immediate vicinity of the Koblenz University campus. This is intended to serve as a meeting place for students, researchers, and representatives of Insiders Technologies, facilitating practical research work and joint innovation projects.
