Insiders Launches Expert Discussion on Agentic AI in Insurance
The roundtable format brings together specialists from the fields of technology, science, and the insurance industry to advance Agentic AI and pave the way for the next level of intelligent process automation.
Insiders, a leading technology provider of software for Intelligent Automation (IA), has launched a structured dialogue on the use of Agentic AI in the insurance industry through a high-level expert roundtable. The roundtable in Berlin brought together selected decision-makers from the insurance sector with leading researchers and technology experts and experts with the goal of jointly defining the potential and requirements for the next stage of development in AI-supported core processes.
Agentic AI represents a new generation of process automation in which AI systems not only perform tasks, but also independently prepare decisions, prioritize steps, and adapt workflows based on the situation. This approach enables more flexible, more reliable processes and helps insurers respond more quickly to new requirements.
The meeting was opened by Norbert Dick, IBM’s long-time General Manager for the Insurance Industry. Following that, Prof. Dr. Sebastian Vollmer from the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) and the RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau, Dr. Christian Bielefeld, a management consultant and former member of the Executive Board of VHV Holding and the Signal Iduna Group, and Prof. Dr. Peter Liggesmeyer, Director of Fraunhofer IESE and of the Chair of Software Engineering at RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau, as well as Managing Director of Versicherungsforen Leipzig GmbH, Jens Ringel, in keynote presentations, on how closely research and operational practice have already converged. The presentations made it clear that agentic AI is not viewed as a distant future technology, but rather as the next logical step for data-driven insurance processes.
The creative workshop that followed provided an opportunity for discussion and highlighted where the industry currently stands and what conditions must be established for the productive use of Agentic AI. The focus was on a 360-degree view of Agentic AI in the insurance industry. The participants agreed that cross-technology collaboration is a key factor in transforming new developments into market-ready solutions more quickly.
For insiders, this approach is nothing new. The company has been working closely with customers, partners, and the scientific community for many years, continuously transforming technological innovations into practical applications.
“Right now, we need people who are willing to think one step ahead of the market. We need early pioneers of a new standard who not only analyze issues but also translate them into concrete action,” emphasizes Dr. h.c. Werner Weiss, CEO of Insiders Technologies, highlighting the importance of this openness for the industry’s future viability. “Our goal is to continue developing Agentic AI together so that it can be used productively in insurance companies.”
The expert dialogue is intended to mark the beginning of an ongoing exchange. Insiders is already planning to continue the format with additional partners and to work together with the market and the research community to establish a unified, practical foundation for Agentic AI. The need is clearly evident in the market, and the expertise to drive this development forward was demonstrated in Berlin. Now, the next steps are being prepared jointly.
