The Secret to Success in Insurance Back-Office Processing: BGV Boosts Efficiency with AI Solutions from Insiders

At the insurance forums’ conference in Leipzig, the two companies will demonstrate how AI in input management takes data processing in the insurance industry to a new level, makes processes more efficient, and further improves quality.

Insiders, a technology leader in software for Intelligent Automation (IA), is participating, together with its long-standing client BGV Badische Versicherungen, in the industry conference “Back-Office Processing & Workflow Support in Insurance” hosted by the Leipzig Insurance Forums. In their presentation “Precise Identification of Business Transactions: Achieving Greater Automation and Quality with AI Assistance,” Sören Hauser, Team Leader of Input Management at BGV, and Felix Burkhard, Senior Sales Manager of the Insurance Business Unit at Insiders Technologies, will share practical insights and demonstrate how modern AI technologies optimize back-office processes in the insurance industry.

The Challenge of Input Management: Complexity Meets the Pressure to Digitize

The BGV —Badischer Gemeinde-Versicherungs-Verband (Baden Municipal Insurance Association)—has been rooted in Baden since 1923 and offers municipalities, companies, and private customers with reliable insurance coverage. With a clear focus on regional responsibility, partnership-based collaboration, and sustainable solutions, BGV supports its customers in insuring against all material risks. Like many insurance companies, BGV also faces the challenge of designing complex business processes efficiently while simultaneously meeting regulatory requirements and rising demands for digitalization.

For many years, the BGV and Insiders have been working closely together on input management and have jointly implemented numerous process optimizations. The introduction of the Cognitive Classifier now marks the next step in this collaboration. The Cognitive Classifier is an AI component that can analyze both text and image elements using specialized methods, thereby operating with significantly greater precision.

Each year, the BGV processes approximately 650,000 documents from incoming emails and snail mail. With the new AI solution, the rate of automated processing has increased significantly, thereby boosting the efficiency of workflows. “The Cognitive Classifier is a significant step in our long-standing collaboration with Insiders. Insiders gives us the flexibility to integrate AI solutions step by step into existing systems—always with a focus on sustainable benefits. This reduces the workload on employees and sustainably improves our service,” explains Sören Hauser.

Felix Burkhard adds: “Together with BGV, we were able to demonstrate how AI noticeably simplifies day-to-day work in the insurance sector. Using state-of-the-art AI technologies, the Cognitive Classifier ensures that incoming business transactions are processed faster, more accurately, and more efficiently.”

Case Study at the Insurance Forums Leipzig Conference

In their presentation at the Insurance Forums Leipzig, Hauser and Burkhard demonstrate how the Cognitive Classifier optimizes the analysis and processing of business transactions and supports workflow management in insurance operations. Participants will learn how hybrid AI approaches help minimize manual post-processing, ensure quality, and shorten process times—a decisive advantage in an increasingly digitized and highly competitive environment.

The conference organized by the Leipzig Insurance Forums, a partner network comprising more than 280 companies in the insurance industry, primary insurers and reinsurers, as well as software and consulting firms in the insurance industry, will take place on February 10 and 11, 2026, in Leipzig. It is aimed at specialists and executives from the IT departments of insurance companies, particularly in the areas of process management, enterprise architecture, process automation, operational organization, IT architecture, and requirements management. Participants will gain insights into current developments and technical possibilities, as well as practical case studies from various insurancecompanies.
