The development of AI requires close collaboration between academia and industry. Through their partnership, the University of Koblenz and Insiders Technologies aim to advance technological development.
“Close collaboration between academia and the business world is the key to an innovation-driven economy,” emphasizes Werner Weiss, CEO of Insiders Technologies. “With the opening of our new location in Koblenz and the deepening of our long-standing collaboration with the Department of Computer Science at the University of Koblenz, we are creating an even closer connectionbetween research and practice. In this way, we foster talent, drive technological developments forward, and sustainably strengthen not only Insiders but also Koblenz as a hub for innovation.”
The future collaboration will include various initiatives to promote talent and expand research-oriented teaching, including joint courses, research internships, doctoral projects, and the introduction of an AI Research Award. In addition, plans include funding an endowed professorship and submitting proposals for joint research projects.
“As Department 4: Computer Science at the University of Koblenz, we are very interested in collaborations with companies in research and teaching,” explains Department Dean Prof. Dr. Ralf Lämmel. “In the case of Insiders Technologies, both sides have been remarkably successful in aligning their mutual interests and expectations in such a way that it can lead to an ongoing collaboration. We can already look back on joint thesis projects, courses offered by Insiders, and a particularly interesting AI-focused workshop for students. Now we want to step up our collaboration on research internships, project proposals, and doctoral projects. “Insiders is an excellent fit for our profile theme, ‘(Health) Data Intelligence.’”
Another key component of the collaboration is the planned “Innovation Lab” located in the immediate vicinity of the University of Koblenz campus. This facility is intended to serve as a hub and meeting place for students, researchers, and representatives from Insiders Technologies, and facilitate practice-oriented research projects as well as joint innovationprojects.
